Medication made just for you
Not every medication works for every person.
You may need a custom medication if:
- Your child won’t take their medicine.
- Your pet needs medication that’s easier to give.
- An older family member has trouble taking medication.
- You have allergies or sensitivities to ingredients like dyes, preservatives, lactose, or fillers.
- You need a different strength or dosage than what’s commercially available.
- You have trouble swallowing pills.
Compounding allows our pharmacists to prepare medication that’s made specifically for your needs.
We work closely with you and your healthcare provider to create a medication that’s easier, safer, and more effective for you.
What is compounding?
Compounding is the process of preparing a medication from individual ingredients to meet a patient’s specific needs.
This may include changing:
- the strength
- the dosage
- the flavour
- the form of the medication
- ingredients that may cause allergies or sensitivities
Medication in a form that works for you
Some medications can be prepared in different forms, including:
- Liquids

- Change a medication into a liquid, cream, gel, or other form that’s easier to use.
- Add flavour to make medication easier for children to take.
- Remove ingredients that may cause allergies or sensitivities, such as dyes, preservatives, or lactose.
- Prepare medications that are no longer commercially available.
- Create custom medications for children, adults, and pets.
